Glow powders

Blue glow powder

Despite claims of silica encapsulation/phosphate passivization, most if not all blue glow powder will have failed encapsulation when implanted. This can be tested by mixing the glow powder into an acidic solution.

Red, orange, yellow, and purple glow powder

Many glow powders with a longer wavelength than green, are not strontium based, but instead based on yttrium oxysulfide, which can have significant health risks. Purple powders, although strontium based purple does exist, some are a mix of blue and red glow powder instead, of which the red, will normally be yttrium oxysulfide. Any of these colors should be handled with extreme care and be analyzed under SEM to confirm identity
